Dangers
of Chlorinated Water
In the U.S.,
chlorine is added to public drinking water supplies as
a public health measure to kill harmful bacteria in the
water. The added chlorine reacts with naturally-occurring
organic matter in the raw water (chiefly humic and fulvic
acids), creating a host of chlorinated chemicals as by-products. |
THMs
in blood increase after showers
Trihalomethanes
(THMs), byproducts from chlorination, appear to increase
significantly in the bloodstream after showering, says a
study by researchers at the University of North Carolina
(UNC) at Chapel Hill School of Public Health.

What
is Reverse Osmosis?
Reverse osmosis
allows people throughout the world to affordably convert
undesireable water into water that is virtually free of
health or aesthetic contaminants. Reverse osmosis systems
can be found providing treated water from the kitchen counter
in a private residence to installations used in manned spacecraft.

UV
Disinfection, A Growing Trend In Safe Water
When properly
designed and maintained, UV disinfection is an effective
technology to keep drinking water safe. UV disinfection
systems can provide an alternative to conventional chemical
chlorine disinfection, and can also provide an additional
barrier to protect against harmful bacteria, viruses and
parasites. |
What
is UV?
The
UV light (photons) gets absorbed by the DNA of the pathogen
in the water or liquid being treated. The DNA is altered
in such a way that the pathogen cannot reproduce and is
essentially killed and cannot cause any sickness. This process
of DNA modification is called inactivation. Unlike chemical
disinfection the organisms are unable to develop any immune
mechanism against UV light. |
Early
Death Comes From Drinking Distilled Water
Environmental
Protection Agency, "Distilled water, being essentially
mineral-free, is very aggressive, in that it tends to dissolve
substances with which it is in contact. Notably, carbon
dioxide from the air is rapidly absorbed, making the water
acidic and even more aggressive. Many metals are dissolved
by distilled water. |
Why
I Now Say No to Distilled Water Only
I started my
health journey, and I continued to buy into it for more
than five years before I started to question its validity.
I started to question the value of drinking distilled water
for the long-term when I finally opened my eyes enough to
realize I was relying on information that was, in most cases,
more than 50 years old. |
Giardia
and Cryptosporidium in Drinking Water
What are Giardia
and Cryptosporidium?
Giardia and Cryptosporidium
are microscopic parasites that can be found in water. Giardia
causes an intestinal illness called giardiasis or "beaver
fever." Cryptosporidium is responsible for a similar
illness called cryptosporidiosis. |
